Johann Strauss II, also known as `The Waltz King`, takes the stage on this stunningly intricate music box. Straus II was a genius composer in 19th century Austria. With the turn of a fixed key on the underside, Johann strikes up a rendition of his most remarkable masterpiece, `The Blue Danube`. As the music plays, Johann spins on the circular platform with his violin in hand and composition sheets on a podium at his side. The figure measures 8 inches tall with a 4 1/2 inch diameter. This music box is constructed from cold cast resin with a bronze finish that gives this elegant piece a decidedly authentic look. The pedestal exhibits an intricate engraving of musical staff notation and embellishments of Viennese skylines and a graceful swan. Although it can`t replace the experience of a full symphonic orchestra, the music box would give a charming accent to any room.
